about

Loneliness is a curse! If you have experienced it, especially for an an extended period, you will understand what I mean. Loneliness is painful. I’d rather have a broken leg! The sense of isolation eats away at the core of our very being. Loneliness is a silent killer. It crushes our spirits.

“You find families for those who are lonely. You set prisoners free and let them prosper” - Psalm 68:6a CEV

lyrics

I know a man he has a beer each night
Got an eye for the ladies not afraid of a fight
And he’s had some he’s just a regular guy.
He loves a yarn tells crude jokes
Loves to be with his mates
He’s a hell-ova bloke
He’s a mans man A regular tough guy

He’s not coping well in his private hell
Of lonely got the blues lonely
No-one would know he won’t let it show
But the boy is lonely O so lonely

Know a girl who walks the streets at night
She sells herself but that’s alright
she’s really popular She’s in demand
She loves to party lives day by day
She’s noisy she’s loud thats just her way
She’s a rebel sorta doing OK

No-one understands the pain she’s in
The pain of lonely Broken hearted lonely
She hides it well no-one could tell
But the girl is lonely O so lonely

So many people playing their part
Acting out a role protecting their hearts
They don’t understand
Why they do the things they do
We don’t understand
That they’re just like me & you

Know a family live just down the street
Husband and wife and a couple of kids
They seem real nice at least from a distance
Church every Sunday Holy Ghost folk
He’s a deacon she’s a singer
Neighbours think it’s a joke
Still they’re faithful God bless ’em

No-one comprehends the awful pain they’re in
They’re lonely Broken hearted lonely
They don’t let it show church will never know
But they’re lonely Painfully lonely

So many people playing their part
Acting out a role protecting their hearts
They don’t understand
Why they do the things they do
We don’t understand
That they’re just like me & you

They hide their broken hearts Live out a lie
Afraid of rejection they’d rather die
But their hearts are crying out
Won’t someone be my friend
Wounded spirits want the loneliness to end

I Know a man who died on a cross
Paid the price carried the cost
Of our rebellion His name is Jesus
When we were alone separated by sin
God sent his son to be our friend and saviour
Wonderful Jesus
What a friend we have in Jesus
