The Church calls it a “Sacrament” or “Ordinance”. We refer to it as “Communion”, “The Eucharist” or “The Lord’s Table” etc. Whatever we call it, for a sincere believer there is merit in obedience to Jesus command.

The danger, of course, is to turn it into something so theologically complex, that it is merely religion and ritual. Jesus did not want complex! He wanted simple. He did not want ritual, he wanted remembrance. You can do that around your own table at dinner time. Just remember Jesus!
